White Flood vs. NO-Xplode

The pre-workout supplement landscape has become very competitive, and there are many products out there. The most prominent product is BSN’s NO-Xplode, which is the original nitric oxide pre-workout supplement.

While we pay our respects to NO-Xplode for starting the pre-workout drink revolution, times have changed. New products like White Flood have improved on the formula with more powerful, leaner, and less expensive mixes. Here are some of the big differences in the matchup of White Flood vs. NO-Xplode.

Value of White Flood vs. NO-Xplode

White Flood is a very powerful pre-workout drink, and each serving is two scoops. You get 50 of these servings per can, meaning there are 100 scoops. Some people, such as women and caffeine-sensitive beginners only need 1 scoop of White Flood. Most users use two scoops of White Flood, and rarely ever want more.

NO-Xplode, however, has 50 total scoops, and requires that you use anywhere from 1-3 scoops! The average user uses two scoops.

According the PricePlow Supplement Price Comparison engine, you can get a can of NO-Xplode for $33. You can get White Flood through this site at $36.

This means that at two scoops per workout, you’re getting 25 NO-Xplode workouts for $33, or 50 White Flood workouts for $33. The winner is clear.

Value Advantage: White Flood

Calories and Carbohydrates in White Flood and NO-Xplode

BSN NO-Xplode Label

NO-Xplode Nutrition Label

White Flood is a calorie-free, carb-free mix. However, NO-Xplode has 6 grams of carbs, in the form of maltodextrin (it also reads “modified glucose polymers”).

Maltodextrin is a very unhealthy carbohydrate because it has a high glycemic index. This means that it causes an unusulaly high insulin spike, and the high levels of insulin must be used to store the carbs as body fat in your cells. It is merely fat-storing filler that you don’t need.

Needless to say, if you’re on a cutting plan or do not want to risk gaining fat, two scoops of NO-Xplode will provide you with 12 fat-storing carbs that White Flood doesn’t have. While you will probably use most of those carbs during your workout, White Flood enables you to get right to burning your own fat.

Calorie Content Advantage: White Flood

Arginine PUMP Complexes in White Flood and NO-Xplode

White Flood’s label is easy to understand. They provide you 2200mg of Arginine AKG, which is the ingredient that gives you the “pump” when working out. You also get 800mg of Ornithine AKG, which assists with this pump and induces growth hormone creation. This is a perfect amount of AAKG and OAKG to give you a sweet pump.

NO-Xplode? Who knows what you’re getting. The entire ingredient label is a giant mystery. Each scoop has 18000mg of ’stuff’, with ??? amount of pump complex, where AAKG is only one of the ingredients.

While we don’t know the exact numbers on everything in White Flood, we at least have a barometer. With NO-Xplode, on the other hand, you have absolutely no freaking clue what you’re putting into your body. You spend a lot of time tweaking your diet – now you’re going to trust this product to ruin it all?

Pump Complex Advantage: White Flood

Creatine in White Flood vs. NO-Xplode

We are big believers in creatine, but we also like to know how much we’re getting and we’re picky about when to get it.

White Flood contains no creatine. Some people don’t like this, and that’s fine. We choose to get ours in at a different time.

NO-Xplode does contain creatine, but it is not the trusted, tried, and true version of creatine monohydrate. Instead, you get (yet again) an unknown amount of the questionable creatine ethyl ester (which tastes miserable), sodium creatine phosphate (which has very little research), and creatine alpha-amino-N-butyrate (which has practically NO research). But are you getting 5g? How much more to add before you start having issues?

If you never supplement your own creatine at other times, then NO-Xplode’s is better than nothing. But with White Flood, the stacking possibilities are endless. We like to get our creatine when our absorption is at its best — first thing in the morning and immediately post-workout. This allows us to use White Flood and still have our preferred stack.

Plus, Creatine Monohydrate Powder is ultra-cheap, and you’ll need to add more to NO-Xplode anyway.

Creatine Advantage: Toss-up

Magnesium in White Flood and NO-Xplode

Magnesium is prescribed to help with constipation. It softens your stool. Are you sure this is what you want to take before working out? Are you in the mood to make a run to the bathroom between your squats and deadlifts?

Because that’s what you’re getting when you take the Magnesium Glycerophosphate that’s in NO-Xplode. This stuff is bad news. It’s a compound that’s only 10% active. So, in order to get the 350mg of magnesium on the label, BSN is putting 3500mg of this shit in your product. That’s over 10 grams of magnesium per 3-scoop serving! This is what doctors prescribe for constipation! Are you serious?

White Flood has no Magnesium. It won’t give you explosive diarrhea.

Magnesium Diarrhea Advantage: White Flood

In conclusion, we do respect NO-Xplode, but it’s time to move on. White Flood is a better value, tastier, and has no BS to make you fat, bloated, and run to the bathroom every 15 minutes.
