White Flood Review

This is our official White Flood Review. You can read user reviews and leave your own ratings at the White Flood Reviews page.

This review and discussion is long, so here’s the bullet points if you’re just on the fence:

  • Lemonade Taste: 10!
  • Energy: 10
  • Pump: 9
  • Focus: 8
  • Overall Value: 9
  • White Rapsberry Taste: 6 (it wasn’t bad – it was just… weird)

Incredible ingredient mix, includes many things that other preworkouts don’t have, but still gives you a ton of stacking options. There are only a couple components inside that I don’t understand, but overall it’s a great experience and great deal.

White Flood Electric Lemonade Review

For those of you new to the game, White Flood is Controlled Labs’ nitric oxide preworkout energy enhancing supplement. It contains 0 calories, and thus is fat-free and carb-free.

It contains a diverse array of ingredients meant to promote three things:

  1. ENERGY for your lifts
  2. Massive muscle-building PUMPS in the gym
  3. Antioxidant Support
  4. Brain function and memory support for increased focus

How Does Electric Lemonade White Flood Taste?

Have you ever been to a baseball game and ordered a lemon chill, or had sweet, Italian ice? If you liked that, then you will LOVE the taste of Electric Lemonade flavored White Flood.

I’m on my third tub of White Flood, and NEVER get tired of this flavor. It’s not too tart of a lemon flavor, but is the perfect mix of sweet with just a dash of sour.

I have never read anyone hating this flavor, and wouldn’t even understand if you didn’t completely love it. This is honestly better than any energy drink, preworkout drink, soda, kool-aid, or Crystal Light flavor. I’m dead serious here – it’s why we made this site.

How are workouts with White Flood?

In one answer, awesome. When I take White Flood 30-45 minutes before working out, the pumps are incredible. I also enjoy the 0 calories – you can truly get a good workout on an empty stomach if you so desire. There is nothing in here to bloat you or slow you down.

I don’t know exactly what it is, but White Flood makes me sweat like crazy. It has to be more than just caffeine, so it’s probably the addition of theobromine, the other stimulant in White Flood. This might scare you, but I personally love it.

I am also a swimmer and enjoy my swims a lot with White Flood. Again, no bloating/cramping, and the beta alanine definitely helps with my endurance. I notice the lack of fatigue moreso when doing cardio than when lifting.

I occasionally get the beta alanine tingles from White Flood. This is a harmless side effect.

How Does White Flood’s Ingredient Profile Rate?

As mentioned above, White Flood gives us energy, pumps, mental focus, and antioxidant support. You can see the White Flood Ingredients in greater detail if you’re interested.

Of the ingredient profile, here’s a few things that I’m really happy with:

  • Both Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate (AAKG) and Ornithine AKG. AAKG gives you those awesome “nitric oxide pumps” we all love, and OKG promotes growth hormone (HGH). Killer combo.
  • Coenzyme Q10. This stuff has over a dozen incredible benefits for you, but is quite expensive to supplement with. It makes me happy knowing that I get this from White Flood and a bit from my multivitamin too. Most preworkout supplements don’t have this.
  • L-Norvaline – Synergistic with AAKG for even better NO production and usage. I’ve never even heard of this before creating this review, but I knew there was something in White Flood that gets me that extra last rep. Could it be this?
  • GABA – Another difference maker, although too much of this would actually turn this into a sleep aid. It helps calm, and I don’t get jittery from White Flood like I would if I just had a fat burner or 200mg caffeine pill.

It’s important to note that there are no BCAAs (Branched-Chain Amino Acids) or creatine in White Flood. I personally like this. First off, they are very cheap and you can add them to your own stack if you wish (discussed below).

Second off, I prefer to get my creatine in two doses each day – first thing in the morning, and immediately post workout. I take my creatine at these times because this is when nutrient uptake is at its max. It may also help to move your morning creatine to an hour prior to workout – but that would still need to be taken before White Flood for maximum creatine uptake during your workout. So I like having it separately.

Third, BCAAs create an insulin response (not as much as eating a bunch of sugar, but they still do). This is not best for all situations, as insulin promotes fat storage. So I only like to add BCAAs to my White Flood prior to doing cardio (to increase endurance) or if I’m doing a workout first thing in the morning (at which point I’ll probably also add creatine or do the creatine 15 minutes prior).

As for the negatives, the one thing I don’t understand is why there is so much inosine in White Flood. Perhaps Controlled Labs has some reasons, but this looks like useless filler to me – there are NO studies that I can find that show this as a performance enhancer. On paper, inosine looks like a great supplement, but this doesn’t work in the lab or the gym. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

White Flood also does have a host of other ingredients, so I sometimes wonder if they are all being diluted too much. This is what sucks about proprietary blends – we don’t really know exactly how much of anything is in there.

However, without a bunch of filler maltodextrin or creatine to get in the way, you mostly get a lot of bang for the buck – and the stuff works great – end of story.

How does White Flood Mix?

Excellently. Just look at the pics to the right. No foam, no fizz, no residue at the bottom. Just a few small bubbles.

Is White Flood a Good Value?

This is why I tried White Flood in the first place. If you look at PricePlow’s Nitric Oxide Powder category, you will see that White Flood rates very high in the number of servings per dollar you get. This is a MUCH better deal than wasting money on sugary energy drinks like Red Bull every day!

For the flavor and ingredient profile, White Flood is my choice among these.

How Do You Take White Flood?

This really depends on your caffeine sensitivity, but I personally take 1 full serving (2 scoops) 30-45 minutes before working out. Typically before leaving the house. By the time I’m done stretching and warming up, I’m ready to blow some squats up.

What’s great about White Flood is that each serving is two scoops, meaning if you want exactly 100mg of caffeine (which I recommend for newcomers to these drinks), you can just do one scoop and you’re on your way. I’ve been told there are 200mg caffeine per serving in White Flood.

What is the best White Flood Stack?

First off, let me note that diet means everything, or else ALL supplements just make you have expensive urine.

If you’re not getting enough protein (at least 1g of protein per pound of lean body mass EVERY day), and eating clean with lots of colorful veggies, meat, fish, nuts, and eggs, then ANY supplement is going to just become expensive piss. If you want to grow, you need the protein and enough calories over your setpoint. If you’re cutting, you need to drop the carbs and keep the protein up (you can research this elsewhere).

That said, here’s my preference:

  • First thing in the morning: 3g creatine monohydrate
  • 75 minutes before workout, if not lifting first thing in the morning: 40g Whey Protein Isolate
  • 30-45 minutes before working out: WHITE FLOOD. If doing cardio, add 5-10g BCAA powder. If it’s a super heavy day, consider adding 3g more AAKG.
  • Immediately post-workout: 3g creatine monohydrate with some milk or simple sugar.
  • 20 Minutes post-workout: 40g whey protein isolate

I’d like to go out of my way and note that I am absolutely in love with Muscle Gauge Whey Protein Isolate – This stuff is freaking delicious and the best deal out there. Try it out from these guys!

Your stack will vary, but this is a decent start.
